The idea is simple: to dedicate a day to a free gathering for writers who want the time, space, and motivation to write in the company of others.
Drop in for an hour or stay all day. Whether you write for 60 minutes or the full eight hours, you’ll be surrounded by a quiet, supportive community of fellow writers at the bright and sunny Uni-Mail, with tables reserved especially for us.
Throughout the day, writers from the Geneva Writers’ Group and Shut Up & Write!® will come together for focused two-hour writing sessions, with short 15-minute breaks in between to stretch, chat, grab a coffee, and recharge. The schedule offers some structure, but the atmosphere is entirely flexible: follow your own rhythm, arrive and leave when you like, and participate in whatever way works best for you.
Bring whatever you’re working on — a novel, short story, poem, essay, memoir, academic project, journal, or simply an idea you’ve been meaning to get onto the page. Writers at every stage and working in any genre are welcome.
And, of course, the day doesn’t end when the writing does. We’ll wrap up with an apéro nearby, offering a chance to put down our pens and laptops, reconnect, and celebrate a productive day together.
We’re looking forward to gathering as a community — and to carving out some uninterrupted writing time together.
