The de Groot Foundation

The de Groot Foundation is a private family foundation created in 2010 to support high impact, sustainable innovation, education and cultural projects. It now shines the spotlight on emerging voices in the literary arts. "Through their words, writers have the power to shape, heal, inspire and educate societies. We need storytellers more than ever. Because of our love of literature and the power of story, we’re passionate about focusing The de Groot Foundation’s initiatives on discovering new voices and encouraging emerging writers."

Le livre sur les quais

A cultural event held annually on the quais of Morges. Over the years, it has become a popular, free-to-attend gathering centered on both Swiss and international literature. As a major literary festival marking the start of the autumn publishing season, it explores key themes in contemporary literature through book signings, author encounters, musical readings, debates, writing workshops, and stage performances—with a diverse program catering to adults, young people, and both French and English-speaking audiences.

Shut Up & Write! ©

A collection of free global communities dedicated to writing practice that encourages people to gather to write together, online or face to face. Introduced by Rennie Saunders in 2007 at Crossroads Cafe, San Francisco. It has since been adopted by over 100,000 members in over 60 countries. A hallmark of Shut Up and Write! is the absence of read-alouds, critiques, or feedback. It focuses on increasing writing productivity rather than increasing writing quality while fostering inclusion and reducing isolation.
